LRADAC Foundation launches Third Annual Rock for Recovery

August 14, 2017

September is National Recovery Month, which raises awareness and understanding of substance use disorders and celebrates that recovery is possible!  The LRADAC Foundation celebrates National Recovery Month with the annual Rock for Recovery campaign and events.  Rock for Recovery brings the community together to share information about prevention and treatment programs at LRADAC and show how recovery strengthens families and communities.

This September, rocking chairs will be found at key events and locations throughout the community where volunteers will rock, share information about National Recovery Month and accept donations to the LRADAC Foundation’s Recovery Scholarship Fund.  The Foundation’s Executive Director, Allison Brumfield, said, “At LRADAC, no one is turned away from services because of an inability to pay.  Thankfully, because of resources like the Foundation’s Recovery Scholarship Fund, individuals and families can apply for financial assistance.”

There are many ways to show support for Rock for Recovery: Cheer, Rock and/or Give.  Rock for Recovery will kick off on August 30th by cheering on the Columbia Fireflies as they take on the Asheville Tourists.  A portion of the proceeds from tickets bought through the LRADAC Foundation, will be donated to the Recovery Scholarship Fund.  Community members are also invited to visit volunteers at one of the rocking stations to learn more about National Recovery Month and make a donation.  Certainly, the most directly impactful way to support LRADAC’s clients and their families in treatment is to make a monetary donation to the LRADAC Foundation.  One hundred percent of the donation will go to support the cost of services for an individual or entire family in need of treatment, recovery and healing.  To purchase tickets to the Fireflies game, locate a rocking station, or make a donation, visit https://lradac.org/foundation/r4r17/.
