LS3P’s Thom Penney named Chair-Elect of the CRDA
July 14, 2017LS3P’s Chairman | President |CEO Thompson E. Penney, FAIA, has been named Chair-Elect of the Charleston Regional Development Alliance (CRDA) for the fiscal year beginning July 2017. Penney has been an active Board member of the CRDA for over a decade, including leadership roles as Co-Chair of the “Opportunity Next” Regional Economic Strategic Plan and member of the Leadership Development Committee and Organizational Excellence Committee. He is currently serving a four-year term as an Executive Committee Member.
Penney, who first joined LS3P as a high school student, has led the firm since 1989. In addition to serving as a National President of the American Institute of Architects and former Chair of the Charleston Metro Chamber of Commerce, he has been honored with the Joseph P. Riley Leadership Award from the Charleston Metro Chamber of Commerce, the Architecture Alumni Achievement Award from Clemson University, the Presidential Citation from the American Institute of Architects, and the Award for Ethics and Civic Responsibility by the Free Enterprise Foundation.
