Madden to Serve on Faculty of Family Law Trial Institute

GREENVILLE, SC – March 31, 2010 – Tim Madden, a partner of NelsonMullins Riley & Scarborough LLP, will join a distinguished group offamily law litigators, judges, and financial and psychological expertsfrom across the country as faculty on the Houston Family Law TrialInstitute in May at South Texas College of Law.

The prestigious institute offers a proven method of instruction forfamily law attorneys seeking to advance their courtroom skills.Expanding upon the successful NITA model of teaching trial advocacy andconducted by a distinguished faculty of experienced family lawlitigators from across the country, the Houston Family Law TrialInstitute uses both small group and individualized instruction – givingattendees the opportunity to immediately apply what they’ve learned,discover what works best for them, add their own personality and style,and obtain immediate feedback on their performance.

The intense eight-day program ends with a trial in a Houston courtroom.The experience is assessed as the equivalent of six or more years ofcourtroom experience.

Mr. Madden’s home is Greenville, and he works statewide from all of theSouth Carolina offices of Nelson Mullins (Columbia, Charleston,Greenville, and Myrtle Beach). He is a Fellow in the American Academy ofMatrimonial Lawyers and President of the South Carolina Chapter. Hetaught family law in the paralegal program at Greenville TechnicalCollege, wrote the chapter on marital dissolution and child custody forthe South Carolina Practice Manual (Howard/Moise ed. 2000), served onthe editorial board for the treatise Marital Litigation in SouthCarolina (Stuckey), taught at the orientation program for new familycourt judges, and speaks at various seminars sponsored by the SouthCarolina Bar and other organizations.
