Magnet Centers selected as finalist for Palmetto’s Finest Award

January 31, 2024

The Center for Knowledge and Center for Knowledge North are among the finalists for the Palmetto’s Finest Award, one of the most coveted and respected awards among educators. The South Carolina Association of School Administrators presents the awards each year to schools that offer the best in innovative, effective educational programs.

Jessica Agee is the principal of the Center for Knowledge. “We are honored to be recognized as a finalist for this prestigious award. We look forward to our next visit and an opportunity to continue highlighting the incredible work that our teachers, staff and students do each day,” said Agee.

CFK and CFK North’s selection comes after extensive evaluations by a committee of fellow educators and previous Palmetto’s Finest winners. The application process includes elements on student achievement, instructional programs, professional learning communities, and school culture. The Centers have completed one onsite examination visit from a review committee and will undergo a second onsite evaluation before the winners are selected this spring.

Each school will have the opportunity to celebrate with their local community, as the winners will be announced through a live stream, via South Carolina ETV, to each finalist school on April 23, 2024.
