Main Street Clinton Presents Scots & Brats Community Festival

October 27, 2024

On Saturday, November 2, 2024, Main Street Clinton will host Scots & Brats on the 100 block of Gary Street, transforming The Lumberyard into a spirited celebration from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m. This family-friendly festival, honoring both Scottish heritage and local pride for Presbyterian College’s Blue Hose, promises an evening filled with music, games, and local flavors, offering something for everyone to enjoy.

“After all the challenges we’ve faced this fall, Scots & Brats is a way to celebrate our community’s resilience,” said Jim Spry, President of Main Street Clinton. “We’re looking forward to a night of good food, music, and community fellowship that everyone can enjoy together.”

Sponsored by Clinton Newberry Natural Gas Authority, the City of Clinton, and Prisma Health, Scots & Brats will feature a variety of free gaming activities, including Big Air Mobile attractions, axe throwing, Gamers Garage, and a pop-up putt-putt course. The event will also showcase live music from the Appalachian Freunde Polka Band from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m., followed by a performance by Andrew Wooten from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m.

Festival goers can look forward to a variety of food and drink offerings, with local vendors serving up brats, BBQ, funnel cakes, craft beers, and other Clinton favorites.

With recent challenges from Hurricane Helene impacting beloved spots across Clinton, including Vance Park, Scots & Brats represents a refreshing opportunity for the community to come together. “Our sponsors’ generosity allowed us to keep these activities free for everyone,” Spry added. “We’re hoping this event provides a meaningful way to bring everyone together and look forward to the holiday season.”

This community festival offers a lively fusion of Scottish heritage and local pride, paying homage to Presbyterian College and its beloved Blue Hose. Scots & Brats invites everyone—students, families, and community members alike—to come out for an evening packed with fun, food, and entertainment. With free games, live music, and a variety of local favorites to enjoy, there’s truly something for everyone. Whether you’re looking to relax with friends, challenge yourself at axe throwing, or simply soak up the festive atmosphere, this event promises a memorable experience for all. Join us in celebrating our shared heritage and PC spirit!
