Major League Fishing returns to Lake Murray Country for Phoenix Bass Fishing League, October 10–11, 2025

October 7, 2025
MLF’s grassroots weekend circuit expands to 12 Regional tournaments, allowing bass anglers to compete closer to home for lucrative prizes and qualify for the 43rd Annual BFL All-American Championship.
Major League Fishing (MLF) is returning to Lake Murray. Hosted by the Capital City/Lake Murray Country Regional Tourism Board (CCLMC), the MLF Phoenix Bass Fishing League Presented by T-H Marine (BFL) will take place at Dreher Island State Park on October 10-11, 2025.

The public is invited to attend the tournament weigh-ins at 3:30 p.m. each day at Dreher Island State Park, located at 3677 State Park Road, Prosperity, SC 29127.

“We’re excited to welcome Major League Fishing back to Lake Murray,” said Amy Hoffman, Interim President of Capital City/Lake Murray Country. “This tournament highlights why our lake is such a sought-after fishing destination and gives us the chance to welcome visitors who will discover all the great things our region has to offer. It’s going to be a fantastic weekend filled with competition and community spirit.”

The 2025 Phoenix BFL Presented by T-H Marine is a 24-division circuit devoted to weekend anglers, with 134 events throughout the season, including five qualifying tournaments in each division. The top 60 boaters and Strike King co-anglers from each division, along with the five qualifying event winners, will advance to one of 12 BFL Regional tournaments. There they’ll compete to finish in the top three, which then qualifies them for one of the longest-running championships in all of competitive bass fishing – the BFL All-American.

MLF announced the expansion of the 2025 schedule for the Phoenix Bass Fishing League Presented by T-H Marine (BFL) to 12 Regional tournaments in September 2024. The expansion ensures that grassroots MLF anglers can fish closer to home on lakes they know and love for a chance to win a $50,000 Phoenix 819 Pro bass boat with a 200-horsepower outboard motor, a new $20,000 cash award as a co-angler, plus qualification into the BFL All-American Championship.

“The Phoenix Bass Fishing League is the foundation of tournament bass fishing,” said MLF Executive Vice President & General Manager Kathy Fennel. “Our passionate BFL anglers represent the single largest group of bass tournament anglers in the world. They are the lifeblood of MLF that keeps the industry moving forward.”
