Marco Cavazzoni appointed to MUSC Board of Visitors
July 8, 2011cHARLESTON, SC – July 8, 2011 – Marco Cavazzoni, vice president and general manager of Final Assembly and Delivery at Boeing South Carolina, has been appointed to the Medical University of South Carolina Board of Visitors. Members are nominated by the trustees of the university and serve as ambassadors in their respective regions. Cavazzoni was appointed by Dr. E. Conyers O’Bryan, Jr.
Cavazzoni is responsible for implementing the new 787 Final Assembly and Delivery operations for Boeing Commercial Airplanes at the site in North Charleston.
Cavazzoni’s previous job at Boeing was as vice president of technical services for the company’s Commercial Aviation Services division. He also has worked in various management roles on the C-17 program.
As an undergraduate student at the University of Toronto, he majored in electrical engineering. He went on to earn a master’s degree in aerospace engineering from Concordia University in Montreal and a doctorate in organizational leadership from Pepperdine University.
Mr. Cavazzoni and his wife, Diane, have one child, Alex (15). He also speaks four languages: Italian, French, English and Spanish — and is a former world-ranked swimmer for the Canadian national team.
