Marriott Hilton Head Resort & Spa completes $10 million second phase property renovation
June 27, 2023HILTON HEAD ISLAND, SC – Marriott Hilton Head Resort & Spa announces it has completed the resort’s second phase renovation that includes a transformation of guest rooms and suites, which follows the recent updating of the resort’s public spaces, dining outlets and function space.
Over the years, the resort has hosted Presidents George W. Bush, George H. W. Bush and Bill Clinton, and several films were shot nearby including “Forrest Gump,” “The Big Chill,” and “The Legend of Bagger Vance.”

The overall design is inspired by the breathtaking landscape. The interiors are crafted with a neutral aesthetic, utilizing a finish palette that highlights the views outward into the lush surroundings. The concept adds a refreshing coastal, clean, and modern look with hues of sea glass. The whimsical headboard mural references the ripples and sand ridges intertwined with the breaking waves.
The resort’s second phase includes renovations to the 513 guest rooms and suites, including the Presidential Suite and four Vice Presidential Suites, which have been renovated to reflect the new design philosophy using earthy tones with complementing sea glass and grey, coupled with a contemporary and upscale twist including new entry way tile, vanities, tiled in showers, carpet, room paint and mural headboards that reflect the Marriott brand’s comfortable, modern aesthetic. Each guestroom features stunning ocean or island views, with large-format windows to allow guests to fully enjoy the surrounding landscape.
Additionally, each luxurious guest room is designed for optimal rest and productivity with architectural framing, contrasting finishes and thoughtful solutions to enhance a guest’s stay, such as:

The resort’s entry and porte-cochere feature a newly resurfaced driveway entrance, high-end herringbone pedestrian and vehicle pavers, and the porte-cochere completely rewired with new sleek LED architectural accent lighting. New light sconces added underneath and around the main entrance create a warm and inviting greeting to guests entering the resort.
The entire exterior of all buildings on premises have been freshly painted using a coating technology conducive to withstand the salt air environment.
