Mashburn Construction announces key employee promotions to strengthen leadership team
October 2, 2025Mashburn Construction, a leader in general contracting, announced the promotion of several team members to new leadership roles, following the completion of the company’s annual employee review process. These promotions reflect Mashburn’s commitment to recognizing talent and investing in its people to drive continued growth and excellence.
Caolan McManus first started with Mashburn as a Project Engineer and has been promoted to Assistant Project Manager. In this role, his responsibilities include coordinating subcontractors, tracking schedules and budgets, assisting with documentation, and ensuring safety and quality standards are met. Caolan received his B.S. in Construction Science Management from Clemson University.
Robert Echols first started with Mashburn as a Project Engineer and has been promoted to Project Manager. In this role, he will oversee daily operations and construction execution. Robert received his B.S. in Construction Science Management from Clemson University and serves as co-chair on the Innovation Committee.
Jake Zofcak has also been promoted from Carpenter to Project Engineer serving our Charleston office. In this role, he will help monitor construction activities to ensure compliance with plans, specifications, and quality standards. Since joining Mashburn one year ago, Jake has been instrumental in the Del Webb East Argent Amenity Center.
Additionally, Calvin Abercrombie has been promoted to Superintendent. Based out of the Columbia office, he will direct and oversee all on-site construction activities from mobilization through final completion. Prior to joining Mashburn in 2022, Calvin was a Marine and earned his A.A.S. in Civil Engineering. He has been essential in the K.J’s Market project.
Tyler Adkins previously Project Manager, has been promoted to Project Executive. In this role, he will oversee project performance, including schedule, budget, safety, and quality outcomes. Since joining Mashburn in 2021, Tyler played pivotal roles in Lexington Medical Center Forest Drive renovation and the Courtyard Lexington by Marriott project.
James Hunt was promoted to Superintendent from Project Engineer. In this role, he will manage daily job site operations, ensuring compliance with project plans, specifications, and schedules. James earned his B.S. in Construction Science Management from Clemson University. Since joining Mashburn in 2022, James has been indispensable in the revitalization of Finlay Park.
Cameron Mashburn started his career as an Intern, additionally working as an Estimator and Project Engineer. He has been promoted to Assistant Project Manager. Cameron earned his B.S. in Construction Science Management from Clemson University and is currently leading the Young Leaders Committee.
In addition, Kris Muir has been promoted to Director of Preconstruction for the Columbia office. He will lead and manage all preconstruction activities from project pursuit through handoff to operations. Kris brings leadership experience as a former member of the U.S. Navy and currently serves as Chair of the Artificial Intelligence Committee.
Will Mullendore has been promoted to Senior Preconstruction Manager. A valued member of Mashburn for the past ten years, Will has served as both a mentor and a trusted veteran on the team, generously sharing his expertise and guidance. He holds a B.S. in Building Construction from Auburn University.
Ross Gray has also been promoted from Project Manager to Senior Project Manager, serving our Myrtle Beach office. In this role, he is responsible for managing schedules, budgets, contracts, and subcontractor performance, as well as ensuring quality control and adherence to safety standards. Since joining Mashburn in 2023, Ross has been instrumental in the Grand Strand Regional Medical Center South Strand Emergency Department renovation.
Brooks Wheeler has been promoted to Employee Experience Manager. With over a decade of dedicated service at Mashburn, Brooks previously excelled as our Culture Coordinator. She holds a B.S. in Psychology from the University of South Carolina and has played a vital role in cultivating and shaping our company culture.
Josh Kay has been promoted to Vice President and will continue to be the Myrtle Beach Division leader as well as assisting in the management of marketing, communications, client relations, and business development company wide.
Drew Coleman has also been promoted to Vice President where he will continue to lead the Upfit Division in Columbia and will assist in the management of upfit projects across all Mashburn offices.
