Mason Joins RMC as Chief Financial Officer
October 19, 2008ORANGEBURG, SC – September 8, 2008 – Tom Dandridge, president and chief executive officer at the Regional Medical Center of Orangeburg and Calhoun Counties, recently announced that Cheryl Mason, CPA, FHFMA, has assumed duties as chief financial officer (CFO) at RMC. A native of Kansas, Mason has more than 20 years’ experience in healthcare finance and management and comes to RMC from a 385-bed, not-for profit hospital in Salina, Kansas.
In her new role as CFO at the Regional Medical Center, Mason is responsible for providing financial and strategic leadership for the hospital and integrated health system and for establishing and implementing financial policies.
She came to RMC from Salina Regional Health Center, where she had served as vice president of finance/CFO since July 2005. She had been affiliated with Salina since April 1984.
“Cheryl brings a wealth of experience to RMC’s finance department,” commented Lisa Goodlett, RMC chief operating officer. “Under her leadership as CFO, Salina had a proven record of achieving superior financial performance. A certified public accountant, Mason earned a master of business administration degree from Kansas Wesleyan University in Salina. She is also a graduate of Benedictine College in Salina, where she received a bachelor of arts degree in accounting.
Mason’s professional affiliations include serving as a member of the Healthcare Financial Management Association (HFMA), as a past president of the Kansas Chapter of HFMA and on the national CFO Peer Leader Forum. She is also a Certified Healthcare Finance Professional and a Fellow of HFMA.
While in Kansas she served as a board member of Hospice of Salina, Salina Surgical Hospital and Salina Public Library.
An exercise enthusiast, Mason enjoys yoga, walking and biking. She and her husband, Fred, are residing in Santee. They have two grown daughters.
