McMillan Pazdan Smith climbs to #33 in Architect Magazine’s 2015 list of best U.S. architecture firms

GREENVILLE, SC – McMillan Pazdan Smith has been named #33 on Architect Magazine’s 2015 ARCHITECT 50 list of best U.S. architecture firms in the Business Category. Last year was the firm’s first year on the list, debuting at #40.
The list, released annually, recognizes firms small and large, based on a combination of three separately ranked categories: business, design, and sustainability. The Business Category evaluates firms on the basis of net revenue, profitability, financial commitment to both research and pro bono work, and employee benefits.
“It’s encouraging to see our firm make strong progress year-over-year at the national level,” says Chad Cousins, the firm’s Chief Operating Officer. “It’s a sign that what we’re doing works. And, it’s incredibly rewarding to see our team’s hard work recognized at this level as they strive each day to bring our clients’ visions to life.”
The firm was also recently ranked nationally at #13 in the Architecture Category of the Zweig Group’s 2015 Best Firms to Work For award. The Zweig Group provides research and publication tools to the AEC industry. This annual award is based on employee survey responses, evaluating culture, employee benefits, professional development, workplace policies and retention rates. Winners were honored at a black tie awards gala in Boston, MA, earlier this month and received benchmarking information along with a summary of their employee’s survey responses.
“Each of our team members is inherently valuable not just for what they know, but for what they add to the team. Their individual perspectives inform our larger vision,” says Cousins. “But, even with a culture of collaboration, openness, and fairness, we wouldn’t be one of the best firm’s to work for if we neglected the communities outside our walls.
