McMillan Pazdan Smith Hires Joe Alcock as Firm’s Atlanta Office Director
March 25, 2015ATLANTA, GA – McMillan Pazdan Smith Architecture is pleased to announce the hiring of Joe Alcock as the firm’s new Atlanta Office Director.
As a leading member of Atlanta’s architectural community, Joe brings more than 15 years of experience in adaptive reuse, historic rehabilitation, and urban infill projects to the firm, along with strong knowledge of building codes, zoning and planning regulations.
“Joe’s client focus, personable leadership style, collaborative design emphasis and experience, business development ‘hustle’, and local involvement in the Atlanta community should be of great benefit as we continue to grow our community-based business relationships in the Atlanta market sector,” said Chad Cousins, Chief Operating Officer, McMillan Pazdan Smith.
After receiving his Bachelor of Architecture from Auburn University, Joe participated in the UNESCO Work Heritage Studies in Roros, Norway. He then founded the award-winning Atlanta design firm of Rutledge Alcock Architects.
In 2009, Joe won the American Institute of Architects’ Emerging Voices Award for the Atlanta Chapter, an award that recognizes young architectural firms in the Atlanta metropolitan area for representing work of design excellence.
He is an active member of key municipal organizations, including the Atlanta Zoning Review Board, the DeKalb County Historic Preservation Commission, and several neighborhood-specific business owner associations.
Some of Joe’s most recent notable projects include the LEED Gold Certified Inman Green condo development, the design award-winning Troy Peerless Lofts in midtown, the Pratt-Pullman Yard master plan, and the new home of Decatur City Police in the historic Beacon School Municipal Complex.
