Merge Launches Sites for Greenville Non-Profits
August 3, 2011GREENVILLE, SC – August 3, 2011 – In July, Merge launched sites for two Upstate non-profit organizations, Greenville County First Steps and the Julie Valentine Center.
Greenville County First Steps seeks to create awareness about what it means to be school ready by providing programming resources and funds to partner organizations to better equip children for 1st grade. To help them achieve their mission, Merge developed and implemented a digital strategy that focuses on maximizing their community partnerships, creating a site that is search engine optimized so that the program is easily found through web search, and a social media strategy that uses Twitter, Facebook and Youtube.
“Greenville First Steps is excited about our partnership with Merge on this project,” said Derek Lewis, Executive Director of First Steps. “Thanks to the support of local community partners we can deliver a web resource for families with young children, which will include developmentally appropriate activities for parents, information about devices available in our community, and resources to help every child enter school ready to learn.”
Merge worked with Greenville Rape Crisis and Child Abuse Center to build a site for the Julie Valentine Center, which seeks to stop sexual violence and child abuse by providing community education, medical and forensic services for children, rape crisis support and treatment for child and adult victims. The site also incorporates social media with a blog, Facebook page, Twitter feed, RSS stream, and Flickr page.
