Michal Kalwajtys joins Callison Tighe as an associate
August 7, 2014COLUMBIA, SC – Michal Kalwajtys, who’s practiced law in Columbia for more than a year, has joined Callison Tighe & Robinson LLC as an associate. He’ll concentrate on employment law.
Kalwajtys is a 2012 graduate of the University of South Carolina School of Law, where he was on the dean’s list and was honored with CALI awards in Constitutional Issues in Property Law and Jurisprudence.
He also holds a Magister Legum, the equivalent of a Juris Doctor, from the Nicolaus Copernicus University, Faculty of Law and Administration, in his native Poland. He worked as a paralegal and legal clerk in North and South Carolina while earning his law degree in this country.
Kalwajtys first came to the United States in 1997 to work as a YMCA camp counselor and kept returning for the next three years. He met his future wife during one of those summers and immigrated after completing his first law degree.
An avid musician, Kalwajtys played lead guitar for the rock band Cathedrals of the Soul. The group performed in Columbia and throughout South Carolina for several years.
