Midlands Technical College Foundation Board Announces New Officers and Board Members

COLUMBIA, SC – January 21, 2009 – The Midlands Technical College Foundation Board elected officers and new board members for 2009.

The new board Chair is:

Charles D. (Chuck) Beaman, Jr., Chief Executive Officer, Palmetto Health.

Additional officers are:

Vice Chair, William T. (Bill) Mahoney, Chief Executive Officer, South Carolina Research Authority;

Secretary, Luz R. Arpan, President and Chief Executive Officer, Hispanic Connections, Inc.; and

Treasurer, Mary H. (Mze) Wilkins, Midlands Market President, Ameris Bank.
 
New board members include:

Charles A. (Chip) James, Jr., Assistant Vice President, Colonial Life;

David M. Lominack, Executive Vice President and Midlands President, Carolina First;

John B. Parks, Associate Vice President for Economic Development, University of South Carolina;

Barbara D. Willm, Vice President of Community Relations, Lexington Medical Center; and

George A. Zara, President and Chief Executive Officer, Sisters of Charity Providence Hospitals. 


The MTC Foundation is composed of individuals who are prominent in the community’s business, industrial, professional and civic affairs. The Foundation provides the structure through which individuals, corporations and other private sector interests demonstrate their financial support for the academic programs and services offered by Midlands Technical College.
