The Midlands Technical College (MTC) Foundation was recently awarded $25,000 by Wells Fargo to provide tuition assistance for veterans and their family members who wish to enroll in MTC’s QuickJobs programs.

“Wells Fargo is making a major contribution to the college’s efforts in giving people the critical training and industry-recognized credentials that can move them quickly into the workforce,” said MTC President Ronald. L. Rhames. “Veterans and their families can use these scholarships to train for a high-demand career in as little as three months.”

As the largest provider of veterans educational benefits to service members and their families in the Palmetto State, MTC enrolls more than 1,000 veterans, their dependents, and other military personnel annually. MTC is the only college in South Carolina designated as a VetSuccess on campus center by the United States Department of Veterans Affairs.

“The college and our students are grateful for Wells Fargo’s commitment to student success and workforce development,” said Jack Hoekstra, CEO of the MTC Foundation. “Wells Fargo’s consistent support and generosity helps MTC provide job training so our veteran population can get the best education and services available in order to fill the jobs in our area.”

“We are pleased to continue our support of MTC’s QuickJobs programs,” said Holt Chetwood, Wells Fargo Midlands market president. “Wells Fargo has a long history of supporting veterans and their family members and is committed to building better communities by working with educational organizations like MTC to create a competitive workforce and a sustainable economy.”
