Midlands Technical College Seeks Applicants For More than $1 Million in Job-Training Funds
May 9, 2015COLUMBIA, SC – Midlands Technical College has more than $1 million to award applicants looking to change or advance their careers. Scholarships are available for training programs that prepare students for careers where workers will be in high demand over the next decade. Many programs can be completed in less than three months, and some careers have annual earning potentials over $60,000.
Advanced Manufacturing Scholarships (SCMC)
SCMC provides skills for in-demand jobs in advanced manufacturing, a growing industry in SC. Upon completion of the 10-week program, graduates receive 10 industry certifications and are awarded the SCMC industry recognized credential. Graduates are prepared for manufacturing careers with starting salaries up to $35,000.
Information Technology Scholarships (GRIT)
GRIT scholarships are available to unemployed or underemployed candidates with education or experience in IT to fill a regional skill and training gap in the Healthcare and Insurance IT departments. The GRIT program can reimburse up to 50-90% of someone’s salary if they are hired by a local employer (government and third parties are not eligible) for an IT position using their new skills.
QuickJobs Scholarships
QuickJobs Scholarships are offered for more than 20 careers in four growing industries: business, computers, healthcare, industrial and manufacturing.
