Miller-Valentine Group Volunteers Bring a Fresh Look to Vital Connections of the Midlands’ Arthurtown Early Head Start Facility

COLUMBIA, SC – Miller-Valentine Group team members recently volunteered to assist Vital Connections of the Midlands by making site improvements to their Arthurtown facility through the United Way Day of Action program. The mission of Vital Connections is to provide quality early care and education for homeless and needy children and their families in the Columbia area.

Miller-Valentine associates volunteered with the group and were tasked with power washing the exterior, cleaning the awnings, weeding and planting the gardens, mulching, and trimming the bushes. As part of their volunteer efforts, Miller-Valentine Group also organized the donation of top soil, pine bark, and winter vegetables from local suppliers.  “Miller-Valentine volunteers provided over $1,200 dollars’ worth of materials, supplies and services to us,” said Robin McCants, Executive Director of Vital Connections of the Midlands, Arthurtown Early Head Start. “We are so thankful for businesses and people like these. They make a huge difference for us.”

Miller-Valentine has been an active supporter of the United Way and has participated in their fundraising and community service efforts for over twenty years.
