Morton & Gettys expands with new senior counsel, new spacious office

ROCK HILL, SC – Morton & Gettys, LLC announced the addition of new attorney Joseph L. Raad, Senior Counsel, to its practice, along with its move to Fountain Park Place in downtown Rock Hill.

A graduate of Winthrop University with a bachelor’s of science degree in business, Raad earned his Juris Doctor from the University of South Carolina School of Law in 1982. As one of only two certified estate planning specialists in the Rock Hill area, he has built a well-respected practice in estate planning and probate, as well as business and corporate law. Raad is a member of the South Carolina Bar Estate Planning and Probate Law Section Committee and the Rock Hill Kiwanis. He is a frequent speaker on topics of estate planning and probate law.

With the addition of Raad to the firm, Morton & Gettys also announces itsr move into a larger new building to accommodate the growing firm. The location brings the Rock Hill and York offices together under one technologically advanced roof for streamlined communications, enhanced efficiency and collaboration designed to benefit clients.

The new office space, located in the Fountain Park Place office building, will give the firm double the square footage of its current Rock Hill office. Sitting on the corner of Elizabeth Avenue and Main Street, the office building overlooks the planned urban park in “Old Town East,” and is scheduled to open in mid-October of this year. The firm’s York office will still be open for scheduled appointments through January 2016.

“We have deep roots in Western York County and are devoted to our clients there,” partner Elizabeth Smith Owen said. “I reside in York and so do my fellow attorneys, John Shiflet and Michael Hatch. We are all very active in the community there. Our commitment will always remain.”
