Motley Rice Helps American Red Cross Get Ready

Law firm sponsors the American Red Cross Ready When the Time Comes program
MT. PLEASANT, SC – June 30, 2011 – Motley Rice is proud to announce it will serve as a 2012 lead sponsor of the American Red Cross’ Ready When the Time Comes (RWTC) program for the Carolina Lowcountry Chapter.
RWTC is a volunteer program that trains employees in participating businesses and organizations throughout corporate America, arming them with the knowledge and skills to be able to immediately respond to the emergency needs of the community in the event of disasters such as hurricanes, tornadoes, floods and catastrophic fires. Volunteers provide services that include sheltering, mass care, hunger relief, damage assessment and supply distribution.
“We should all play a role in helping our neighbors and communities respond effectively when disaster strikes. The American Red Cross counts on volunteers to provide essential relief services in times of critical need, and we are proud to be contributing even more to the RWTC program to ensure that volunteers are ready when help is most needed,” stated Motley Rice Charitable Contributions Committee member Michael Elsner.
Motley Rice is joined by the City of North Charleston and Piggly Wiggly as 2012 sponsors. The American Red Cross’s Carolina Lowcountry Chapter serves the Charleston, S.C., region, an area at risk for hurricanes, floods, tropical storms and earthquakes, and requires approximately 1,200 volunteers to respond and sustain relief efforts for a minimum of five days following a disaster.
