Municipal Association’s Communications Efforts Recognized
May 5, 2009COLUMBIA, SC – Amay 4, 2009 – The Municipal Association of SC was recognized in five categories at the annual statewide Mercury Awards hosted by the South Carolina Chapter of the Public Relations Society of America. The Association represents the state’s 270 municipalities as an advocate for strong cities and towns. The awards recognized the Association’s efforts to increase awareness about the important role cities and towns play in the state’s competitiveness.
Projects receiving awards include:
- Joint tax reform opinion column featuring the voices of the Rock Hill mayor and the city’s local chamber of commerce president (opinion writing category)
- “Hometown Network News,” a 10-minute video featuring testimonials from business leaders to illustrate the important role of cities in the state’s economic development efforts (electronic communication category)
- “Cities Mean Business” advertorial in SC Biz magazine (advertorial category)
- 2007-08 Annual Report which included a special tribute to the Association’s retiring executive director (annual report category)
- “Uptown” newsletter redesign (newsletter category)
