Nascar drivers Joey Logano, Jordan Anderson lend support for flood relief efforts in Columbia, SC

COLUMBIA, SC – With the recent flooding events that took place throughout South Carolina, one of the most impacted areas came in the heart of the state’s capital city – Columbia.
With flood waters finally receding, Columbia and other South Carolina cities have months, even years, worth of rebuilding.
With that said, NASCAR Sprint Cup Series driver Joey Logano and NASCAR Camping World Truck Series driver Jordan Anderson paid a visit to Columbia on Thursday to lend support and awareness to areas hit hardest by the floods.
“It’s important that we continue to be aware of what people are going through in Columbia and throughout the state of South Carolina,” Logano said. “Just because the floods have receded and the rivers have crested, doesn’t mean there still isn’t work left to be done. Many people are still in need of food and drinking water. Facilities vital to the city are still in need of repair. That’s why Jordan and I are here. If we can bring attention to these needs, we’re happy to do it.”
Logano, driver of the #22 Shell/Pennzoil Ford and current leader in the Chase for the Sprint Cup Championship, and Anderson, a native of nearby Forest Acres, SC, toured areas around the downtown Columbia Canal, thanking first responders, construction crews, Salvation Army volunteers and others vital to the rebuilding of the canal, which is the primary water source for the city.
Both drivers also paid a visit to a neighborhood that was heavily affected by the flooding. Many homes and townhouses in the neighborhood were deemed unlivable with families losing everything they owned.
In turn, Logano and the Joey Logano Racing Foundation pledged a donation of $50,000 to support the flood relief efforts.
