National speaker to address nonprofit leaders in Greenville

GREENVILLE, SC – DNA Creative Communications (DNA), in partnership with Community Foundation of Greenville, United Way of Greenville County and Hollingsworth Funds, announces that Susan Meier of Washington, DC will present “Leading with an Exceptional Board: Moving from Transactional to Transformational.” This event, part of DNA’s annual Shine the Light Nonprofit Forums, will take place on Sept. 30, from 8 a.m. to noon at the Kroc Community Center, located at 424 Westfield Street in Greenville.

Susan Meier, principal at Meier & Associates, has over 27 years of governance and nonprofit experience. Having served as a senior leader at BoardSource and Prevent Child Abuse America, she brings an understanding of the complex and unique challenges of nonprofits. She has worked with executives and board members to identify governance challenges and opportunities, such as board/staff relations and leadership transitions, and implement strategies to address an array of governance issues. First presenting at Shine the Light in 2014, Susan looks forward to returning to help Greenville nonprofits develop leaders for their organizations by engaging and building on the strengths of their boards.

This workshop will include a keynote address by Susan as well as case studies and interactive roundtable discussions. Attendees will explore key attributes of an exceptional board, establishing a constructive partnership between boards and chief executives, and strategies for developing a transformational board to achieve the long-term vision of an organization and ensure sustainability for the future.
