National study names SCE&G among the most trusted utility brands

July 5, 2017

South Carolina Electric and Gas Company (SCE&G) was deemed one of America’s most trusted utility brands in a national study released last week.

Conducted by one of the world’s largest market research firms (Market Strategies International), the 2017 Utility Trusted Brand & Customer Engagement™ Study  ranked SCE&G among the top 20 combination electric and natural gas providers in the nation and second in the South Combination benchmark segment for brand trust.

The study surveyed a representative sampling of residential customers of the 130 largest U.S. electric and natural gas utility companies. Respondents were asked to rate their utility on attributes such as customer focus, reputation, community support, communications effectiveness, and environmental dedication.

In the past year, SCE&G has made a number of customer service improvements, such as launching a mobile-friendly website, adding 24-hour customer service on social media and expanding payment arrangement options.  Sam Dozier, vice president of customer service for SCE&G, adds that there are more enhancements on the way.

“We are dedicated to outstanding customer service and continually building upon it,” said Dozier. “We are honored that our customers trust us to deliver on those expectations.”
