National Wreaths Across America Day – Local Remembrance Program Scheduled

December 12, 2022

Saturday, December 17 is National Wreaths Across America Day.

Each December on National Wreaths Across America Day, the mission of the Wreaths Across America Organization is to “Remember, Honor and Teach.” The mission is carried out by coordinating wreath-laying ceremonies at Arlington National Cemetery, and more than 3,400 additional locations in all 50 U.S. states, at sea and abroad.

On Saturday morning, December 17 at 11:30 am. American Legion Post 25 in conjunction with Wreaths Across America will be conducting a wreath laying ceremony at the amphitheater in Laurens.

During the ceremony a Veteran from each branch of service will present the wreath for that branch. In addition to all military branches being represented, a wreath will also be presented for POW/MIA and Gold Star and Silver Star Families. In the Laurens ceremony, two young girls who lost their father in combat will be laying the wreath for the gold and silver star families.

The Laurens Amphitheatre is located at 205 Gordon St, Laurens, SC.
