Neal Prince Architects and LS3P Associates Join Forces

Merger allows architectural firms to offer regional strength and the power of combined portfolios
GREENVILLE, SC – November 5, 2010 – Two legacy architectural design firms with long histories in South Carolina – Neal Prince Architects and LS3P ASSOCIATES LTD. – announced a merger that will integrate more than 200 architects, planners, interior designers and support staff in North and South Carolina.
“Through this partnership we are able to combine portfolios, strengths and markets,” said Thom Penney, FAIA, LEED AP, president and CEO of LS3P. “By increasing our regional presence within the architectural community, we’ll bring broader and deeper expertise to existing, new and prospective clients.”
Greenville-based Neal Prince Architects has a strong focus on faith-based and residential markets, while LS3P – with South Carolina offices in Charleston and Columbia and North Carolina offices in Charlotte, Raleigh, and Wilmington – offers a portfolio with corporate/commercial, K-12 and higher education, federal, healthcare, recreation, and civic projects.
According to Scott May, AIA, LEED AP, president and partner of Neal Prince Architects, the timing is perfect to make this move, especially because of a growing trend where smaller firms are taking a step to become regional firms.
“We’ll now have one firm in multiple cities to better reach clients in North and South Carolina,” said May. “Plus, with our like-minded philosophies and long-term growth visions, we’ll be able to maintain excellent design services and similar, positive office cultures for our staff.”
For a transitional period, the Greenville office will be known as LS3P Neal Prince before assuming its formal name as LS3P ASSOCIATES LTD. It will remain at its current location at 110 West North Street, Suite 300. The merger will officially take place in January 2011.
