New Nurse Practitioner-owned Clinic in the Midlands

Janeen Jensen Wood, Family Nurse Practitioner, has returned to the Irmo area and opened Crescent Clinic, an occupational health and family medicine clinic. Janeen graduated from Chapin High School in 1993, after which she attended Utah State University on an academic and athletic scholarship. She completed her bachelor of science degree in Public Health and her associate of science in nursing, before moving to New York for her husband to attend medical school. Upon completion of his physician assistant program, they moved to Irmo and purchased their first home. They lived in the midlands for seven years before a job opportunity took them to Texas. While living in Texas, Janeen returned to school to earn her Master of Science degree in Nursing in 2011. Janeen and her family relocated back to Irmo to settle near family in 2012. She is excited to return to the area and offer her services back to the community.

In September, Janeen Jensen Wood opened Crescent Clinic Family and Occupational Health, LLC, located at the back of Murraywood Centre in Irmo. The clinic offers occupational health services, including DOT/CDL physical exams and drug testing, ophthalmology exams, as well as urgent care and family medicine services, with an on-site lab.

Crescent Clinic is unique in that their prices are listed on their website. They cater to those without insurance or those who have a high deductible insurance plan. Crescent Clinic is a self-pay clinic, offering up-front pricing and a superbill for you to submit to your insurance company for reimbursement. This is also one of the few nurse practitioner-owned clinics in South Carolina. Dr. Dean R. Jacobs, MD is the supervising physician and offers self-pay ophthalmology exams by appointment.
