New Studio Raises the Barre on Fitness in Greenville

GREENVILLE, SC – Barre Evolution, a dynamic fitness method designed to work “for every body,” no matter what shape or age, is opening a studio near downtown Greenville at McBee Station Shopping Center, it was announced today by Marie Crosby, Managing Partner and instructor.

Conceived and founded in Charleston, SC by Nancy Meyer and Nicole Wallen, Barre Evolution has evolved from original barre exercises by blending what they describe as “a welcoming, boutique-like atmosphere with a body transforming workout that combines small isometric movements to safely lift, tone and strengthen calorie-burning muscle groups.” The method works equally well for women coming back from pregnancy or injury, Wallen says.

Greenville was chosen as its first expansion beyond Charleston, where Barre Evolution has two thriving locations because, said Meyer, “We’ve watched Greenville’s evolution, too. It’s become more sophisticated and stylish, with healthy fine dining options and fitness consciousness. It matches our student profile.”

Marie Crosby, who manages the studio and joins in instructing classes, brings three years of experience teaching barre to the new Greenville location. She has also “taught everything from Jane Fonda-style aerobics to step, spinning, kickboxing, boot camp and Zumba” and has held certifications in ACE Group fitness and ACE Personal Training. Marie explains that she “fell in love” with Barre Evolution because of the strength and balance it builds in both mind and body. “Muscles elongate and become supple. The inches and pounds fall off.”

With eight instructors specially-trained in the Barre Evolution method, students can expect personal attention in a group setting where no two 60-minute classes are alike. The studio will be open seven days a week with classes scheduled for early morning, lunchtime, evenings and weekends. Students can also shop at the studio’s Barre Boutique which features retail offerings exclusive to Barre Evolution.

The studio’s soft launch, offering sneak peek classes, will be held between September 27^th – October 3^rd with single classes for $12.00. The official grand opening will be held on October 4^th and students can take advantage of a new student unlimited package for $89 (for the first month) and memberships as low as $145/month.
