Next Buncombe Street UMC lunch and learn to focus on Medicaid and veterans’ issues for seniors.

GREENVILLE, SC – An overview of Medicare and Medicaid benefits for seniors as well as veteran’s issues will be the topic of a lunch and learn later this month.

Buncombe Street United Methodist Church has joined with numerous Greenville-area agencies including The Woodlands at Furman for a series of lunch and learns on issues facing seniors. The March 18 luncheon will feature Bonnie Noble Silberman, a geriatric care manager with Geriatric Resource Services.

In addition, Jan Redd, the associate director of the Greenville veteran’s affairs office, will speak about Aid and Attendance, which is a benefit for veterans that can assist in a care community or in the home.

The event will be held in Buncombe Street UMC’s Truluck Room- 108 from 11:45 a.m. to 1 p.m. on March 18. This is the second in a series of four informative luncheons. Lunch will be provided. Cindy Johnson, community relations director at The Woodlands at Furman, said the Woodlands is a valued partner in this initiative with the church.
