Ninth-Inning Surge Propels Blue Hose Past Le Moyne

– The Blue Hose struck first in the bottom of the second inning when Trey Fenderson lined a single through the left side, driving in Lazio to put Presby ahead 1-0.
– Lazio then extended the lead in the bottom of the fourth with a homer over the left-center field wall, giving the Blue Hose a 2-0 advantage.
– Le Moyne responded in the top of the sixth, scoring two runs to even the game at 2-2.
– A scoreless seventh and eighth inning set the stage for a tense final frame, with the fans on the edge of their seats as the game headed into the ninth.
– Jacob Fields came through in the clutch, striking out all three Le Moyne batters in the top of the ninth, giving Presbyterian a chance to win it in their final at-bat.
– Andrew Albertus led off the bottom of the ninth with a walk, and Fenderson’s sacrifice bunt moved him to second. Amman Dewberry followed with a base hit, advancing Albertus to third. Pinch runner Aaron Hobson promptly stole second, putting two runners in scoring position. Mikah Conner then drew a walk to load the bases, setting the stage for Ryan Ouzts, who sealed the victory with a walk of his own, bringing Albertus home for the game-winning run.
