Nominations Being Accepted for 2011 TD Bank Making a Difference Award
April 11, 2011GREENVILLE, SC – April 11, 2011 – Nominations for the 2011 TD Bank Making a Difference Community Leadership Award are now being accepted. Held in conjunction with the Greenville Hospital System USA Cycling Pro Championships, the award will recognize individuals who have overcome challenges and helped make a difference in the Upstate community.
Five individuals will be selected from all nominations received and will be spotlighted in a weekly feature in City People, beginning April 20, 2011. The overall award recipient will be chosen from the weekly honorees and will receive $2,500, courtesy of TD Bank, at the USA Cycling Pro Championships on Monday, May 30, 2011. The honorees will be selected by a committee comprised of representatives from USA Cycling Pro Championships, TD Bank, Medalist Sports, the City of Greenville and Greenville County.

About USA Cycling Pro Championships
The Greenville Hospital System USA Cycling Professional Championships return to Greenville for the sixth consecutive year Memorial Day Weekend, May 28-30. The event weekend will kick off with the Individual Time Trial Championships presented by Duke Energy, Saturday, May 28 at CU-ICAR. Cyclists will compete against the clock on a 6.9 mile course (completed three times). The Road Race Championships presented by TD Bank will be held on Monday, May 30 with the start/finish in downtown Greenville. The 110-mile course will include three short downtown circuits, four long laps over Paris Mountain, and then three finishing downtown circuits.
Licensed by USA Cycling, Inc. (Colorado Springs, CO) and organized by Medalist Sports, the event continues to build in momentum and stature.
