Ob Hospitalist Group Announces Several Life Saving Milestones
August 14, 2014GREENVILLE, SC – Ob Hospitalist Group (OBHG), the nation’s leading dedicated OB/GYN hospitalist provider and the original architect of the Obstetric Emergency Department (OBED) announced several milestones for their life-saving enterprise this month.
OBHG’s Data Analytics Division confirms their Board Certified OB/GYN hospitalists have managed more than 2,589 life-saving interactions within the last year alone. This number represents at least seven lives saved every day at their 55 hospital partners across the country. In fact, OBHG’s leading edge data reports over 7,000 life saves since their inception in 2006. In addition to those numbers, OBHG hospitalists have been on-site to manage more than 24,000 high-risk emergent obstetrical encounters.
Two other laudable milestones were also noted: Since OBHG’s inception, their highly-skilled hospitalists have delivered more than 54,147 babies in over 1,373,408 hours of providing dedicated service to all expectant mothers presenting to the hospital, regardless of time, location or circumstance. This represents more than 25 babies an hour that may not have been as fortunate had an OBHG hospitalist not been immediately available.
In a final milestone, OBHG Data Analytics estimates that they have provided the highest level of timely medical care to more than 140,000 women and infants in the past twelve months.
Ob Hospitalist Group Chief Executive Officer, David Swain commented on the true meaning of these accomplishments: “These milestones really represent saving lives, raising quality standards, and improving outcomes for the women we serve. Looking forward, it is our goal to continue to be at the forefront of the OB/GYN hospitalist movement, supporting local obstetric providers and mitigating risk for hospitals while creating best practices for all patients. As the hospitalist model for obstetric medicine continues to be one of the fastest growing medical specialties, the number of lives saved will increase and many families will be able to celebrate significant milestones of their own.”
