O’Brien joins Callison Tighe as an associate

Forest O’Brien has joined Callison Tighe as an associate. With a background in accounting, he will focus his practice on corporate and business law, estate planning and probate matters, tax law, and personal asset protection.

Mr. O’Brien graduated cum laude from Elon University School of Law, where he was a business fellow. He served several internships and externships while in law school, including a summer as an international tax intern in the Raleigh office of an international accounting and consulting firm. He also a legal extern in the Internal Revenue Service Office of the Chief Counsel in North Carolina. Working with the small business/self-employment division, he drafted answers to taxpayer petitions, assisted with trial preparation, and conducted legal research.

Additionally, he worked for almost a year as an assurance associate with PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) in the firm’s Charlotte office and interned one summer with KPMG on a trade and customs team.

Mr. O’Brien holds a master’s degree in accountancy and data analytics from the University of Mississippi and a bachelor’s degree in accounting from the University of South Carolina Darla Moore School of Business. He has passed all four sections of the Uniform Certified Public Accountant Examination and is pursuing his South Carolina CPA license.
