Oconee Economic Alliance announces Destination Oconee Hire

The Oconee Economic Alliance (OEA) announced the addition of Janet Hartman as Manager of the Destination Oconee strategy. A native of Iowa, Hartman joins the OEA team after working as the Downtown Development Manager for Blairsville, Georgia.

Hartman will be charged with the implementation of Oconee County’s tourism based economic development strategy,Destination Oconee: Realizing the Future of Oconee County, as well as assisting with the continued revitalization of the downtown districts within the community. The goal of Destination Oconee is to drive initiatives that enhance the economic climate within Oconee County while accelerating efforts to continue to make the area one of the leading tourist destinations in South Carolina.

“I am very excited to be a part of the Oconee Economic Alliance team,” said Hartman. “I am impressed with the time and resources that have already been put toward the Destination Oconee plan and I look forward to working with the Council-appointed committee members to implement the various strategies of this plan.  It is an exciting time for Oconee County and I am fortunate to be a part of it.”
