Ogletree Deakins Expands International Platform, Opens Mexico City Office

GREENVILLE, SC – Ogletree Deakins, one of the largest labor and employment law firms representing management, is pleased to announce that the firm is expanding its international platform by opening an office in Mexico City tomorrow, September 25. The firm has previously opened offices in Berlin, Germany and London, England to meet the growing demand for international legal services. The firm’s new office allows the firm to provide local labor and employment support and solutions for clients with operations in Mexico.

The Mexico City office will be led by Pietro Straulino-Rodriguez, who joins Ogletree Deakins from Sánchez Devanny, where he served as the co-head of the firm’s Labor, Social Security and Immigration practice group. Straulino-Rodriguez will be joined by his team from Sánchez Devanny which includes three associates and a law clerk. The Mexico City office is expected to grow quickly.

Previously, Straulino-Rodriguez worked in the legal and government relations department of a global automobile manufacturer. His practice is comprised of servicing international clients with litigation, counseling, and union negotiation matters. He has advised several national and international companies on compliance with Mexican laws related to a myriad of matters, including individual work contracts, collective bargaining agreements, global policies, employment manuals, and codes of ethics and conduct. Additionally, Straulino-Rodriguez has participated in complex negotiations with labor unions on revising collective labor contracts.

In addition to his practice, Straulino-Rodriguez is a professor of labor law at the Escuela Libre de Derecho. Straulino-Rodriguez is an active member of the National Association of Business Lawyers and the American Bar Association. For his accomplishments, Straulino-Rodriguez is ranked by Who’s Who Legal as one of Mexico’s leading labor lawyers.
