Innovative offering adheres to new guidelines from FHFA, Fannie Mae
Certified residential appraiser Paul Ryll is pleased to announce the availability of a new offering, Oscar Mike Mobile Appraisals (OMMA), a secure desktop appraisal platform that captures information, images, and square footage of properties that are the subject of real estate transactions. The product is now available to upstate mortgage lenders, Appraisal Management Companies (AMCs), and other real estate professionals following the recent approval of desktop appraisals from the Federal Housing Finance Agency (FHFA) and Fannie Mae.
Effective March 19, appraisers will permanently be able to perform appraisals without physically inspecting properties, which can lead to increased efficiencies, cost-savings, accurate data, lower revision rates, and the reduction of potential discrimination claims, among other benefits. This method, which has been temporarily allowed since the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, is now a long-term, viable option for the industry.
