Online auction open for Party for the Parks coming Nov. 14 to Cannon Park

CHARLESTON, SC – The Charleston Parks Conservancy will transform Cannon Park into a street-fair style party for the upcoming Party for the Parks, the nonprofit’s largest fundraiser of the year. Party for the Parks is 6-10 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 14 at Cannon Park, 131 Rutledge Ave. in Charleston.

New this year, the Conservancy has teamed up with Charleston-based Bidr for advance bidding on auction items. The auction opened online today at via Bidr. Anyone can bid on auction items, which include vacation getaways, private chef dinners, event tickets, attraction memberships and gift certificates.

Some featured items include 2.02-carat diamond earrings from Croghan’s Jewel Box valued at $5,000; an Inspirato vacation to either Vail, Colorado, or Punta de Mita, Mexico; and a package of services from EventHaus Rentals perfect for birthdays, weddings or other celebrations. Also be one of the first to honor a loved one or a special memory with a new bench placed at Colonial Lake as part of the park renovation.  The auction will close the day of the event at 8:30 p.m.

Tickets for the event are $85 for general admission, which includes food, open bar and entertainment. Tickets are on sale at www.partyfortheparks.com. A VIP ticket is available for $200 and includes access to a VIP tent with food and a specialty lavender martini cocktail from Magnolias/Blossom/Cypress restaurants, Cirsea Ice Cream and Cacao’s Artisan Chocolate and special entertainment by puppeteer Will Schutze and his marionette Mr. Bonetangles.

Party for the Parks will feature food from several of Charleston’s best restaurants and caterers, including Relish Distinctive Catering, Bull Street Gourmet & Market, Jim ‘N Nick’s Bar-B-Q, Vincent Chicco’s, Monza, Básico at Mixson, Indaco, Oak Steakhouse and Burwell’s Stone Fire Grill. Enjoy coffee from Royal Cup Coffee and sweets from Grill 225, Freddo’s artisanal gelato, Christophe Artisan Chocolatier-Patissier and Blend Juice Bar.

Icebox will host the open bar, and specialty cocktails will be provided by The Americano, The Cocktail Club and 44° North Vodka. Wine will be provided by Mira Winery, Grapevine Distributors and Finca El Origen Winery. Beer will be provided by Southern Eagle Distributing Inc.

Americana band The Bushels will perform, and Palmetto Mobile Entertainment will be pumping out the dance music. Other entertainment includes breakdancing and fire performances, an aerialist, Brazilian band Malandro Soul and plenty of surprises.

Proceeds from Party for the Parks benefit the Charleston Parks Conservancy, a nonprofit organization dedicated to connecting people to their parks as well as revitalizing and invigorating Charleston’s public parks and green spaces. The Conservancy currently works in 25 city parks and has been involved in renovation projects at Marion Square, Allan Park, Corrine Jones Park as well as managing two community gardens.
