Orangeburg County Economic Development Summit
October 14, 2008ORANGEBURG, SC – October 14, 2008 – Going Global…Acting Local will be the focus of the Orangeburg County Economic Development Summit. The Summit is scheduled for November 12, 2008 at the Orangeburg – Calhoun Technical College, 3250 St. Matthews Road, Orangeburg, South Carolina 29118 from 8:30am to 5:30pm. The Summit will bring together, international, national, regional and local leaders to discuss important changes in the economy and in our county including growth, transportation and education.
Jafza South Carolina is scheduled to unveil its Master Plan and model for Santee, South Carolina at this event. The Summit will create an understanding of the opportunities and the impact Jafza will have on Orangeburg County and the entire state of South Carolina.
The 2008 Orangeburg County Economic Development Summit will feature nationally-recognized experts who will discuss the current economic climate and the realities facing the Global Logistic Triangle (126- US-30 1- 1-95) and surrounding areas, as well as outline the steps necessary for prosperity and wealth creation. There will be panel discussions and interactive sessions to develop strategic insights on challenges, solutions and opportunities.
Congressman James E. Clyburn will be the luncheon speaker and there will be entertainment from Claflin choir as well.
