Orangeburg law firms provide 350 free turkeys for Thanksgiving

For the 4th year in a row, the Orangeburg law firms of Lanier & Burroughs and Williams & Williams teamed up to provide hundreds of Thanksgiving turkeys to Orangeburg community residents in need. This year, the law firms were joined by local State Farm insurance agent, Keith Hewitt, Jr., and together they provided 350 turkeys to Orangeburg-area residents.
As in years past, the law firms sought the assistance of local church and charitable organizations to identify Orangeburg area residents that might benefit from receiving a free turkey for Thanksgiving. These organizations include Andrew Chapel Baptist Church, Columbia Road Church of God, Full Gospel Word, Garden City Church of Christ, Greater Faith Baptist Church, Mt. Olive Baptist Church, Orangeburg Baptist Tabernacle, St. Andrews United Methodist Church, Unity Fellowship Community Church, Williams Chapel AME Church and Soup Kitchen, Perfecting Zion Church, Dalton Veterans Outreach, Salvation Army, Casa Family Systems, Catch the Vision, Project Life Positeen, Rivelon Elementary School, Wesley Christian School, Orangeburg Consolidated School District 5, Mayor Michael Butler, and the South Carolina Highway Patrol.
“We would like to thank all of the organizations that help us provide this benefit to members of our community,” said Charlie Williams. “We are extremely thankful for their support over the years and the support our businesses receive from members of our community.”
“One of the best things about our jobs is that we get to help people,” said Shane Burroughs. “It is especially rewarding to be able to help members of our community during Thanksgiving.”
