December 12, 2023

“Origin SC is changing lives and giving hope… and I wouldn’t have been able to do this without your help.” – Ashley D, Former Client

Origin SC, a leading state-wide non-profit organization dedicated to empowering individuals and families through financial education and counseling, is excited to announce the launch of its new campaign, “Home for the Holidays.” This initiative aims to provide free foreclosure counseling to hundreds of households in need by December 31st. South Carolina ranks in the top three states with the highest foreclosure rates, impacting one in every 2,260 homes in South Carolina; our community is in need.  Impacting 218 homeowners since the program started, Origin is a leading line of defense in mitigating foreclosures.

The holiday season should be a time of joy and togetherness. Origin is committed to ensuring that families facing the threat of foreclosure can experience the warmth and security of being in their homes during this special time. Through the “Home for the Holidays” campaign, Origin will offer expert HUD-licensed (Department of Housing and Urban Development) counseling and referrals to those navigating the challenges of potential foreclosure.  Homeowners will be connected to an Origin HUD Certified Housing Counselor in South Carolina for virtual or in-person assessment and budget sessions to determine available options and develop an individualized plan unique to the homeowner’s personal situation. This service is FREE and will include a copy of a tri-merged credit report and access to multiple community referrals.
