Palmetto Health Elects 2013 Board Officers

COLUMBIA, SC – January 24, 2013 – The Palmetto Health board of directors elected the following officers: William L. Freedie Freeman III, vice president of sales at VOA Canada, chairman; James E. Rick Wheeler, vice president of Loxcreen MetalSource a Division of M-D Building Products Company, vice chairman; Jerome Jerry D. Odom, Ph.D., retired executive director of University Foundations at The University of South Carolina, treasurer; and Traci Young Cooper, Ed.D., director of Extended Day Programs & Partnerships at Richland School District One, secretary.

The Richland Memorial Hospital board of trustees officers include: Calvin H. Elam, financial business manager at Elam Financial Group, chairman; James E. Rick Wheeler, vice president, of Loxcreen MetalSource a Division of M-D Building Products Company, vice chairman; George S. King Jr., senior vice president of investment services at SCBT, treasurer; and Ann Pringle Washington, president and chief operating officer of Kolor Pro Promotions, Inc., secretary.

The Baptist Healthcare System board of trustees officers include Lester P. Branham Jr., retired minister and member of the S.C. House of Representatives, chairman; William L. Cogdill, Jr., president and owner of Cogdill Carpets, vice president and secretary; James A. Bennett, director of Public Affairs for First Citizens, treasurer.

Palmetto Health’s new board members are Sara B. Fisher, senior vice president and chief financial officer of The National Bank of South Carolina; Beverly D. Chrisman, retired government executive and political consultant; and Joel E. Johnson, D.M.D., general, cosmetic and sports dentist with Joel Johnson D.M.D., P.A.

Richland’s new board members are C. Guy Castles III, M.D., pediatrician with Pediatric Associates; F. W. Rick Dreyer, M.D., physician with Pitts Radiology and vice chief of staff for Palmetto Health Richland; Randy R. Lowell, lawyer with Willoughby & Hoefer, P.A.; and Sandra P. Sims, owner of SAP, Inc.

Baptist’s new board member is Donen Davis, J.D., M.D., plastic surgeon with Donen Davis Plastic Surgery and chief of staff for Palmetto Health Baptist.
