Palmetto Technology Group Named Greenville Chamber’s July 2014 Small Business of the Month

July 17, 2014

GREENVILLE, SC –  The Greenville Chamber is pleased to recognize Palmetto Technology Group (PTG) as its July 2014 Small Business of the Month Award winner. The PTG Team was presented with the award at the Chamber’s monthly board of directors meeting on Thursday, July 17, 2014.

“PTG is a fairly new member to the Chamber. We quickly realized that the more active we became with the Chamber, the more benefits we would reap. With a big focus on growing our ‘backyard business,’ the Greenville Chamber was the best and most logical place for us to start,” says Reed Wilson, Founder and President of PTG. “We’ve concentrated our branding efforts and local outreach most recently through hosting Business Before Hours and New Member Orientation. Through these venues, we have built several new relationships.”

About Palmetto Technology Group
Palmetto Technology Group (PTG) is an IT support company and business strategist focused on Microsoft solutions, such as Office 365, Microsoft SharePoint, Lync, and others. As an industry expert for Microsoft solutions, PTG has migrated thousands of users to Office 365 in Greenville as well as across the country.

PTG has been recognized by Microsoft as a Top Microsoft Partner for the Southeast for several consecutive years and is part of the elite Microsoft Cloud Champions Club. In addition, PTG has received the MSPmentor award for the last 2 years as a managed service provider.

Reed Wilson founded PTG, located in downtown Greenville, in 2007. Niche industries for PTG are those that handle an excess of “information” – accounting, engineering, construction, legal, healthcare, and financial services (to name a few). PTG has two primary components – collaboration tools (setting up mail servers, web portals, etc.) and desktop/end-user support.

According to Wilson, “I am passionate about technology. Technology for technology’s sake is a bad thing, but technology for productivity improvement – or more important, profitability improvement – is an awesome thing!”

PTG continues to grow each year, and the company recently celebrated their recognition as a Microsoft Cloud Accelerate Partner as one of the fastest growing Cloud Partners in the US. They were also recently presented with the CRN Next-Gen 250 award.
