Parker District earns Fire Safe South Carolina Community Designation

The Parker Fire Department was recently honored with a Fire Safe South Carolina Community Designation.
“We are proud to have received this designation,” said Greg Farley, Parker Fire Department’s chief, “We’ve worked hard to make sure citizens and visitors feel ‘Fire Safe’ and it’s great to see that hard work pay off.”
Fire Safe South Carolina was launched in 2017 and works with local fire departments to develop community risk reduction (CRR) plans, as well as provide educational resources for citizens. Parker was one of 57 departments honored this year.
Alan Kay, chairman of Parker Sewer and Fire Subdistrict, said the Fire Safe designation is recognition of the ways that the Parker Fire Department has gone above and beyond to convey fire safety, not only through their own information, but also in their actions.
“This is an honor for Chief Farley and his team,” Kay said. “But it is an award for the residents of Parker as well. This shows to them how hard-working and innovative the department is when it comes to providing them service.”
