Piecewise Coffee opens second location on Devine Street
April 22, 2024Columbia is about to get a new hotspot for coffee aficionados and community enthusiasts alike as Piecewise Coffee gears up to open its second location on Devine Street. The official ribbon cutting is on Wednesday, April 24. Situated at 2824 Devine Street, Columbia, SC 29205, this new venture promises to bring the same blend of excellent coffee and community spirit that patrons have come to love from its original Cayce location.
The journey of Piecewise Coffee began in July of 2019 when Stanton Scoma, a University of South Carolina College of Engineering and Computing graduate, and his wife Lindsey, opened their first coffee shop in Cayce. Driven by a vision to foster a sense of togetherness and improvement within their community, the Scomas set out to create a space where people could not only enjoy expertly brewed coffee but also engage in meaningful conversations and connections.
The name ‘Piecewise’ holds a special significance, derived from a mathematical term that describes a function composed of multiple parts, each with its own distinct characteristics. It’s a fitting moniker for a place that seeks to bring together diverse individuals, each contributing their unique ‘piece’ to the vibrant tapestry of community life.
With the success of their first venture, the Scomas are excited to expand their footprint and bring the Piecewise experience to a new neighborhood. Devine Street, known for its eclectic mix of shops and eateries, provides the perfect backdrop for this community-focused coffee shop to thrive.
At Piecewise Coffee, patrons can expect more than just a caffeine fix. From meticulously crafted espresso drinks to flavorful pour-overs and specialty teas, there’s something to satisfy every palate. But beyond the beverages, it’s the warm atmosphere and welcoming vibe that truly set Piecewise apart. Whether you’re a regular looking for your daily dose of caffeine or a newcomer eager to explore Columbia’s coffee scene, you’ll find a place to belong at Piecewise Coffee on Devine Street.
