Planned Administrators Inc. to join forces with Thomas. H. Cooper & Co. Inc. Benefits Administrator

June 24, 2021

Planned Administrators Inc. (PAI) announced it is joining forces with fellow third-party administrator (TPA) Thomas H. Cooper & Co. Benefits Administrator Inc. (TCCBA) based in Charleston, South Carolina.

The two will become one company and will operate as PAI effective June 28, 2021.

“Uniting PAI with TCCBA grants us the opportunity to incorporate TCCBA’s products, services and talents into a single portfolio, making us stronger together than we are apart,” said PAI President and Chief Operating Officer David Huntington. “As with all important business decisions, we will work closely with our groups, members, clients and partners to make the integration process as smooth as possible.”

Customers can expect a seamless integration. Clients will receive the same level of high-quality service from the same account representatives and other employees they have come to know and trust.

TCCBA was established in 1972 in Charleston and offers solutions including self-funded medical plans and medical management services.

PAI is celebrating its 40th anniversary this year. The company has become the premier TPA for self-funded plans and a national administrator of a range of voluntary products and specialty plans that complement major medical plans. As a wholly-owned subsidiary of the leading health insurer in South Carolina, PAI can offer clients access to the best provider network in the state.
