Pops Country Cooking to Transition to New Owner
January 28, 2025Pops Country Cooking, located at 306 E. Carolina Avenue just announced a change that marks the beginning of a new chapter. The restaurant, which recently transitioned from buffet-style service to a menu-only format, has announced that it will be transferring occupancy of its location to another local food favorite, effective immediately.
Owner Marcus Cheeks shared the news, expressing a mixture of gratitude and optimism for the future. “This was an unexpected opportunity that opened up sooner than we anticipated,” said Cheeks. “While we will miss serving our customers in this space, we’re thrilled to pass the baton to a talented young lady who shares the same passion for excellent food and service. We’re confident the Clinton community will love what she brings to the table.”
Cheeks highlighted the restaurant’s decision to pivot its focus toward the catering side of the business, citing increasing demand. “This transition allows us to fully dedicate ourselves to catering, which has been a growing part of the business. We’re excited about the possibilities this brings and look forward to serving our loyal customers in new and meaningful ways.”
As Cheeks begins this next chapter, the Clinton community can look forward to two exciting developments. First, stay tuned for the reopening of the space at 306 E. Carolina Avenue under a new concept led by the new owner. Second, Marcus Cheeks will continue to expand his catering services, which many have already experienced and enjoyed at events across the area.
Details about the new concept and updates on catering offerings will be shared soon. Cheeks extends heartfelt gratitude to his customers for their unwavering support and invites them to join him in embracing this exciting future.
