Dr. Wendy Freeland, a distinguished Professor of Music at Jacksonville State University, will be the feature performer. With a wealth of experience and a passion for both solo and collaborative performances, Dr. Freeland brings a dynamic and engaging presence to the stage.
The repertoire for the evening includes works by renowned composers, including Glass, Granados, LeCuona, Mendelssohn, Poulenc, and Saint-Saëns. Attendees can expect a diverse range of musical expressions, showcasing Dr. Freeland’s versatility and artistry on the piano.
Dr. Freeland’s musical journey has been marked by an impressive academic background, including graduate degrees in piano performance from the University of South Carolina under the mentorship of John Kenneth Adams. Her Bachelor of Music degree in piano performance is from Florida Atlantic University, where she studied with Heather Coltman and Judith Burganger.
As a soloist and collaborative artist, Dr. Freeland has graced numerous stages, performing with acclaimed musicians such as soprano Dr. Shellie Beeman and mezzo-soprano Stina Öhman. Her international performances in Serbia, Sweden, Italy, and Korea highlight the universal appeal of her musical prowess.
