Presbyterian College Students Deliver $1,000 Donation to Laurens County Cancer Association

December 17, 2025

The Laurens County Cancer Association (LCCA) recently received a generous $1,000 donation from Presbyterian College’s Chapter of the American Cancer Society and the students of Zeta Tau Alpha, continuing a strong tradition of local support and community involvement.

This contribution serves as a meaningful reminder that the Laurens County Cancer Association is an independent, locally supported organization. Unlike national cancer groups, every dollar LCCA receives comes directly from local businesses, churches, hospitals, civic organizations, and individuals within the community. Those funds stay in Laurens County and are used to support neighbors facing a cancer diagnosis.

“Support like this is especially meaningful because it stays right here in Laurens County,” said Anna Drew Miller, Executive Director of the Laurens County Cancer Association. “These students are helping ensure that local patients can focus on healing, not financial stress, and we are incredibly grateful for their commitment to our community.”

When Presbyterian College students rally together to fundraise, their efforts help sustain LCCA’s day-to-day assistance programs, including help with transportation, medical-related expenses, and other essential needs that often arise during cancer treatment.

LCCA extends a heartfelt thank-you to Karlie, Grace, Andy, Natalie, Bethany, and Abby for delivering the donation on behalf of their organizations. The association also expressed appreciation for Presbyterian College as a whole, noting the value of having a philanthropic-minded college that supports the mission not only through financial gifts, but through meaningful volunteerism and time.

The Laurens County Cancer Association relies on community partnerships like these to continue providing vital support to local residents and remains thankful for the ongoing commitment shown by Presbyterian College students.
