Presbyterian College to Host “America: Years in the Making” Band Concert on April 16

March 23, 2026

The Presbyterian College Department of Music will present a special evening of music and reflection as the Chamber Winds and Wind Ensemble take the stage for a spring band concert titled “America: Years in the Making.”

This concert is not a timeline from the Revolutionary War to the present day. It is not centered on the dark chapters of our history, for darkness does not define the American spirit—it represents a departure from it.

This concert is a celebration of the true American spirit—the spirit that moves men and women to sacrifice comfort and possessions for the sake of others they often do not know; the spirit that calls us to risk our lives for what is good, true, and just.

The American spirit is courageous in its initiatives, thoughtful in its planning, compassionate in its methods, just in its goals, resolute in its actions, and grateful for the fruits of its labor.

As we reflect on what this spirit truly is, may we also be inspired to live it; to carry it forward as we continue building this great nation together!

The concert will be held on Thursday, April 16 at 7:30 p.m. in Belk Auditorium and is free and open to the public. Attendees are invited to enjoy the performance in a relaxed, casual setting.
