Prisma Health to offer free flu shot clinics in October
October 10, 2024Clinics are scheduled at Midlands and Upstate locations to help families prepare for flu season, predicted to be severe
In October, Prisma Health launched its annual Midlands and Upstate community flu vaccination campaign as part of its system-wide effort to offer protection from the highly contagious virus.
Protect your family with free flu shots available at sites in Richland, Sumter and Greenville counties.
The flu shot is available for anyone six months and older. Flu vaccines cannot be given to those who have COVID-19 or think they have COVID-19. Flu immunizations will be offered at multiple drive-thru sites to maximize community access. These sites will offer only flu shots. Limited high-dose flu vaccines will be offered for people age 65 and older.
Please wear loose-fitting clothing that can easily roll up. Consent forms are required and available at each site. A valid driver’s license or photo ID also is required. There is no out-of-pocket cost to receive a flu shot. Health insurance is not required but please bring your insurance card if you have it. Children under the age of 16 require a parent/guardian signature. Flu shots are available on a first-come, first-served basis.
In addition to these community clinics, your Prisma Health primary care clinic offers recommended vaccines. Learn more about flu symptoms, frequently asked questions or find a doctor online here.
